Social Media Post Limits

Clarification for how many times per platform you can post. Platforms are LinkedIn, Instagram, and Discord channels.

The new limit is:

3 posts total per piece of content

This could be 1 post per platform, or multiple posts on the same platform. If you choose to create multiple posts on the same platform for the same piece of content, the caption must be different. In special cases, this limit could be extended.

Did you know you could post on your Instagram story? Story posts count towards your total post limit, but are point-only projects since they expire after 24 hours.

Video Process Updates

The video project process has changed. All videos submitted for the program will now only be intended for ambassador personal social media profiles, no longer being posted from DigiKey’s social media to avoid branding discrepancies. Videos being posted from your accounts still need to tag DigiKey so they can interact with your post (they’re excited to see them!)

The submission process remains essentially the same.

Submit Topic Review > Topic Approved > Submit Draft for Review > Draft is Approved > Post to your account > Send the link to the video post

This will also follow the standard social media guidelines, meaning the normal tags and hashtags will be required.

Badge Eligibility Clarification

A clarification to the Quantity Badges, the count of social media posts must be from separate campaigns. ie, to earn the Social Media Pro badge, you need to complete 5 social media posts. However, this means 5 unique content posts. This does not include if you post about the same item twice or on multiple platforms.

I always avoid making any changes to the program while we are in process of a school year as much as I can, but sometimes that is unavoidable. If you have any questions about these changes, please let me know!
