Updates to our Program for the 2026-2027 School Year
I’m excited to share that we have minimal changes to the program year this year – we made a lot of updates last school year, and we continue to dial it in each year 🙌
Here’s the highlights of the updates to this program year, and the full details can be found in the PDF below.
1. New Project: Workshop Blogs
After receiving a kit or part from the Kit Catalog, you now have the option to create a Workshop Blog project. This would be a blog that outlines how you ran the workshop using the kit: detailed steps, any resources you created (slides), and any suggestions for improvement if you were to host the workshop again.
2. Project Topic Review Limits
To prioritize and ensure the workload is balanced for our review teams, all project types now have a limit of 3. This means you can only have 3 topics in review, per project type. For example, you can only have 3 video project topics in review, 3 blog topics in review, and 3 social media topics in review at one time.
3. Merch Shipment Deadlines
Beginning in the September 2026, merch shipments will occur 2x a month only. Shipments will occur on the closest business day to the 1st of the month, and the closest business day to the 15th of the month. This means that if you submit a merch request on the 7th of the month, it will be shipped on the 15th. Requests must be submitted day prior to the scheduled shipment date.

4. Kit Catalog
The workshop kit catalog will be revised to include new kits from DigiKey featured suppliers. Stay tuned for this update.
